Women's Ministry Shining A Light Together

Bio:
Melissa has been part of Mint Hill Baptist Church since February 2002 (23years). Over the years, what she has come to love most is the sense of family found within the women’s group.
A Charlotte native, Melissa built a life rooted in faith and family alongside her husband, Rick. They were married for 30 years before his sudden passing in 2019. Today, she continues to carry that foundation forward with strength and grace.
Melissa is a seventh grade English Language Arts teacher with Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. She has a deep passion for working with students ages 11 to 15 and believes that season of adolescence is especially formative. She sees her work not just as a career, but as a ministry, striving each day to be a positive influence and make a lasting impact on her students.We are grateful for Melissa and the steady, faithful presence she brings to our church community.

Hobbies:
She enjoys traveling, reading, and spending time with family and friends. She is the proud mother of two daughters, Elizabeth and Natasha, and recently welcomed her grandson, Luke, born on Christmas Eve 2025.

Life Verse:
Melissa’s life is anchored in the promises of Jeremiah 29:11 and Isaiah 41:10, reflecting her trust in God’s plan and His constant presence, bringing hope and strength through every season. As we celebrate Mother’s Day this month, Melissa’s life is a beautiful reflection of faith, resilience, and care for others. Through every role she holds, she continues to pour into those around her with grace and purpose.
