Based on the recommendation the President of the United States that for the next 15 days to avoid gatherings of 10 or more, I wanted to inform you of actions we will be taking as a church:
Meetings: All in-person activities will be canceled through at least Tuesday, March 31. We will reassess our situation at that time and make further decisions from there.
Services: We will move to online services only for these two weeks. This includes our Wednesday nights, Sunday mornings, and Sunday evenings. You can watch online on our Facebook page and www.minthillbc.org/media
Office: The church office will be effectively closed during this time, but phones will be answered so that we can continue to meet needs as best we can.
Senior Adults: If you are a Senior Adult and need someone to grab items from the store, pharmacy, etc., we have volunteers ready to assist! Just call me or the church office, and we will help you.
Giving: As a church, we rely on your generous giving to help keep our ministry active. I know many are suffering more financially than physically, but if you can give, you may do so through online giving at www.minthillbc.org/give, or mail your tithes and offerings to the church office at 7835 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, Mint Hill, NC 28227.
These are trying times with hard decisions being made by all. But these decisions are being made to help save lives. I encourage everyone in our church to take the state, local, and nation precautions very seriously so that as Christians, we help model responsible, caring behavior. By taking these precautions now, we help effectively "flatten the curve" of the infection rate thereby limiting exposure to the most vulnerable and prevent overwhelming the healthcare system.
We are not at the end of this crisis, but this is an opportunity for the gospel of Jesus Christ to shine greater than ever! Reach out to your neighbor and see what they need. Call a friend and encourage them. Share the gospel! Remember, the church is not a building, it is God’s people born again in the blood of Jesus Christ. Though we do not gather here, we gather globally in one Spirit. The gates of hell will not overpower us (Matthew 16:18)!
Be vigilant in prayer. Love God. Love Others. Make Disciples.
I love you all!
In Christ, Pastor Will
